Yesterday was the 4 year anniversary of my islet cell transplant. I'm still off insulin, have minimal side effects from the current immunosupression meds I'm on, and even though my blood sugars are occasionally higher then I'd like to see them my over all control is great.
Would I do it all again?
you bet.
Happy tranniversary to me!

AWESOME! I'm thinking of doing the same, but have no idea where to start!
Congratulations! I hope you'll remain off insulin for many years to come, although even if you have to start with it again, you will still have functional counterregulation, meaning hypo unawareness won't likely return.
Yep. I don't miss hypoglycemia unawareness at all. I'll always have my early diagnosis and removal of my thyroid cancer thanks to one of my post transplant CT scans that UIC ordered too. :) it's.all good on that light
Congratulation! Its an awesome accomplishment. Heres to many, many more.
